Star Wars fans are in the mood for total celebration as “The Rise of Skywalker” turns three. Released on December 20, 2019. This was not only the final installment of Disney’s sequel series, but it had to follow up on “The Last Jedi,” a movie that divided the fans and critics. J.J. Abrams beautifully closed the saga, satisfying all the fans.
It does feel like the Abrams-directed film was released over a decade ago, but it’s only been a few years since the Skywalker saga ended. After the sequel trilogy saga, fans have only seen the protagonists Rey, Finn, and Poe in Disney Parks and haven’t seen them in any Star Wars films or series. And it left fans wondering what happened to these characters after the battle. However, it doesn’t seem like we will get a clear answer soon, it’s going to take a few years.
Furthermore, Lucasfilm described the climax of the saga, they wrote, “When it’s discovered that the evil Emperor Palpatine did not die at the hands of Darth Vader, the rebels must race against the clock to find out his whereabouts. Finn and Poe lead the Resistance to put a stop to the First Order’s plans to form a new Empire, while Rey anticipates her inevitable confrontation with Kylo Ren.”
Since it’s the three anniversary of The Rise of Skywalker, many fans have already watched it once again, and if not then the sequels are available on Disney Plus so you can go back and make your mind fresh with Abrams’ beautifully made saga.
One of the highest-grossing Star War films
The Rise of Skywalker is listed as one of the highest-grossing Star Wars films, earning $1.074 billion worldwide. Although the film is said to be one of Star Wars’ most disappointing box office runs, it still can’t be called a failure given the fact it grossed over a billion dollars.
The film is undeniably a success, and it will be discussed until the end of Star Wars fandom, which is never.
Fans are talking about the film all over social media platforms on its anniversary.
