Priscilla Presley recently emerged from the legal tug-of-war surrounding Lisa Marie Presley‘s estate with quite an impressive settlement under her belt. However, not all her wishes were granted. Among her requests was a longing wish to be laid to rest alongside Elvis Presley, which was denied.
During the intense negotiation talks, Priscilla let it be known that her ultimate wish was to spend eternity resting next to her legendary ex-husband, Elvis. Yet, her request hit a brick wall during a Tuesday settlement with her granddaughter, Riley Keough. As TMZ reported, it seems her wish was deemed a non-starter and ultimately denied.
Here is what Priscilla Presley told TMZ:
“Although I don’t plan on going anywhere anytime soon, it is my family’s and my wish for me to be laid to rest with my daughter and the love of my life when that time comes. We appreciate the love from all of the fans.”
Elvis found his final resting place at his beloved Graceland estate after his death in 1977. The graves of his mother and father flank his, creating a family memorial. Lisa Marie, his only child, and her son, Benjamin Keough, have their graves there too. So, it’s understandable why Priscilla yearned to be buried there. However, her request would involve relocating the gravesites of Elvis’s parents, a complicated issue that is not possible to happen.
The dust is finally settling on the legal skirmish over Lisa Marie Presley’s estate. They have reached a settlement, closing the chapter on a challenging period for all parties involved. However, amidst this resolution, it appears that Priscilla’s wish to rest alongside Elvis won’t be fulfilled.
