The Avengers has always been Marvel Studio’s best film series, and this film series peaked during the late 2010s with Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame, Avengers: Endgame even became the second highest-grossing movie of all time, grossing $2.797 billion.
Now, after the grand success of Endgame, Marvel Entertainment’s president Kevin Feige seems to be planning to make the next Avengers film, Avengers: Secret Wars even bigger than Endgame. Marvel Studios took over a decade to complete the infinity saga. The infinity saga ended with Avengers: Endgame, where we saw the crossover of superheroes like no other.
Marvel started their multiverse saga with Phase 4, which will end with Phase 6, which will be concluded with Avengers: Secret Wars, which is set to be released on May 1, 2026, and as mentioned above, Feige plans to make Secret Wars the biggest and greatest MCU movie of all time, but is it possible?
Can Avengers: Secret Wars beat Avengers: Endgame?
Recent Marvel films and television shows have not been receiving good reviews from fans, so can Avengers: Secret Wars beat Endgame? Forget beating. Can it even come close to Endgame’s level? Indeed, new Marvel films and shows do not have good reviews; however, that does not mean Secret Wars can’t top Endgame.
Heavy Spoiler reported that Feige wants Secret Wars to become the biggest movie of all time, and to do so, he will include almost every central Marvel character. Just remember the reaction at the theatres when the portals opened in Endgame, Phase 4 of the MCU has ended, and only in Phase 4 we’ve been introduced to many new Marvel characters.
Furthermore, Wolverine and Deadpool are set to debut in the MCU. Instead of only MCU characters, we will see multiple superheroes from the Marvel comics, including the X-Men, Fantastic Four, Eternals, and so forth.
With all these characters coming together for one film, it already sounds far better than Endgame. Indeed, only having vast feelings does not mean the movie will be good. It also needs to have a good storyline, and if Fiege wants it to become the most fantastic movie of all time, then he can’t compromise on anything. Fans will also see what the future of the MCU holds after watching how the upcoming movie Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania turns out.
Mark Ruffalo states Secret Wars will be a Big Bang
A few months earlier, Mark Rufello appeared in Entertainment Tonight, where he was asked how Secret Wars would be compared to Endgame, and he replied that it will be hard to top Endgame but it will be pretty amazing. Ruffalo stated, “Well, it’s going to be hard to top Endgame, but if I know Kevin and if I know Marvel, it’s going to be pretty amazing. It’ll be a big bang, and we’ll go out with a big bang.”
However, the script for the film has not even been started, but Ruffalo could confidently say that Secret Wars will be a big bang, and it shows how big this movie will be.
Who could appear in the movie?
We already mentioned some of the heroes we will see in the movies; however, other than them, there is a huge chance that we will again see Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man together. Not only them, but rumors have it that in the sixth Avengers movie, we will finally get to see Venom in the MCU however, there are also rumors that Spider-Man 4 will be released on July 2024 before Avengers: Secret Wars. That would mean we’ll see Venom before Secret Wars in the MCU.
Moreover, Along with Mahershala Ali, fans will also see Wesley Snipes’ Blade in the theatre. If all the rumors are true, then there is no doubt that Secret Wars will not only top Endgame but could even become the highest-grossing movie of all time.
