HBO is back with another blockbuster series. House of Fragon has premiered and most of the fans are happy to see another series of Dragons after the end of Game of Thrones. What is House of Dragon about?
House of Dragon is all about the infamous Targaryen family and their dragons. House of Dragon takes place in Westerosi. It takes part in the era which was historically known as “The Dance of Dragons” and “The Dying of the Dragons.” The events that happen in the House of Dragon take place almost hundred years ago.
In this series, you can experience how the ancient Targaryen family lived. We can get information on the political matters of Westeros and about the conflict that happened hundreds of years ago.
The series will also unravel the conflict that was caused inside the Targaryen family to determine who will be the successor. The dispute gets between the children of King Viserys I.
King Viserys had many children and the children who started the conflict was Rhaenyra Targaryen and her half-brother Aegon II Targaryen. As you see, Rhaenyra is the daughter of Aemma Arryn, the first wife of the king. She is the truthful owner of the crown. Aegon II is the son of the king’s second wife.

As we’ve discussed earlier, the events that show on the House of Dragons of are almost 200 years ago. We can show the events and wars which happened almost 200 years before the Game of Thrones.
There are events that take place is of before and after the Targaryens took control over the whole of Westeros. In a simple manner, we can say that the series explain Before and After the Conquest.
The series, House of Dragon takes place around 100 BC (Before Conquest) when the Doom of Valyria had occurred. It was an event where the dragons that the Targaryens rode were only kept alive and the rest of the Dragons were killed, and when Aegon I Targaryen made the Iron Throne and made new rules at Westeros in 2 AC (After Conquest).
House of Dragon is the era where the Dance of The Dragon happened. And that era takes place between 29 AC to 131 AC. But when we look at the first episode of the series we find it taking place in 112 AC, it portrays the ancient Westeros and the ancient life of the people with Dragons.
The first episode that takes place in 112 AC is almost 172 years before the birth of Daenerys Targaryen and the death of her father, King Aerys. Roughly Game of Thrones had taken place at that moment, around 298 AC.
House of the Dragon gives us an opportunity to dig deep into history and learn about the Targaryen family and the culture of Westeros. It also helps us to understand the events that took place in Game of Thrones.
