How Many Pokémon Does Ash Have?

Ace Ketchum has caught several kinds of Pokémon s throughout his journey to be the Master Trainer. He has caught several pocket monsters in every region, he has caught more than you can imagine.

It’s crazy even to think how many of them Ash has at the moment. Imagine if you were a trainer and you were on a journey like him, how many would you have caught since there’s no limitation on how many Pokémon you can see?

Let’s dive into the world of these cute and powerful pocket monsters!

Ash’s current Pokémon

In the world of pocket monsters, a trainer can only carry six Pokémon on their poke balls at once. Why?

The battle would never end and it would have been too easy if Ash was allowed to use all of his 77 Pocket monsters at once.

Currently, he has six favorite Pokémon s he uses on daily bases; while fighting with trainers, wild monsters, and so on. Let’s take a look at these lucky pocket monsters.

Even though Gengar sounds evil and scary, this monster is really cute. Poor Pokémon was released by its previous trainer. For a long time, he haunted Cerise Laboratory but, Ash came to the rescue.

Ash and Gnegar both defeated the evil infamous team, Team Rocket. They created a strong bond, and the cute evil monster decided to join Ash in his journey.

Dragonite

Ash met Dragonite before its evolution, he met this monster while the Pokémon was still a Dragonair. The young trainer taught Dragonair how to fly on Dragonite Island.

Throughout this episode, the Pokémon evolved into Dragonite and after then, it decided to join Ash in his dream to become a master.

Riolu was hatched from a Pokémon Egg. The Egg was passed on from one daycare to another daycare. Eventually, it reached the Kanto region’s Pokémon Center.

Riolu felt a connection, a strong connection, and finally hatched in the Pokémon Center. The pocket monster sensed a great bond with Ash and joined with him.

Riolu and Farfetch’d got into a battle, the newly hatched Pokémon remained victorious. Later, Farfetch’d was healed in the local Pokémon Center and after that, he accepted Ash’s invitation to join him.

Originally, Dracovish was restored by Gasattsu and Cara Liss. This water-type Pokémon deflected Pikachu’s attack, it proved how powerful it was.

Dracovish wanted to play with Ash but wanted to bite him as well. But in the end, they both created a great bond with each other. Gasattsu and Cara permitted Ash to keep Dracovish, it joined the young trainer in his epic journey.

He currently has 40 different species of Pokémon in laboratories. They are in three different laboratories, but most of them are with Professor Oak in Pallet town which is also his birthplace.

Ash encountered Bulbasaur when the Pokémon was protecting a small group of Grass-type pocket monsters. Bulbasaur only agreed to join with Ash if he could only defeat it in the battle.

With Pikachu’s help, Ash defeated Bulbasaur, the Pokémon then joined Ash in his journey. For a long time, they were together and completed many adventures together.

Caught In: EP011: Charamander – The Stray Pokémon!

Charizard and Ash share a very deep bond. The young trainer saved the Pokémon’s life when he was a cute Charmander.

They had a great bond until it evolved into Charmander. When it evolved, the Pokémon looked down upon its trainer. It found him too weak.

Fortunately, they bonded with each other and became good friends.

They started to grow together and when it evolved into Kingler, it proved to become one of the strongest Pokémon and greatest friends of Ash Ketchum. They traveled together for a long time, now it lies in Oak’s laboratory.

Ash and Muk met weirdly. Grimmer caused a power failure in the area, he caught Grimmer at that moment but he smelled a lot!’

After that, Muk was sent to Oak because of the smell. But later, its smell disappeared and it resides in Oak’s laboratory at the moment.

This was one of the remarkable episodes of Pokémon. This episode was banned in most places because there was a use of guns in the episode.

When Bayleef was a Chikorita, it was a cute but stubborn Pokémon!

The young Chikorita wanted all of Ash’s affection for himself, but as time started to pass they created a great bond of friendship and became a great teammate. Currently, Bayleaf resides in Oak’s laboratory.

While the young trainer was running away from the infamous evil team, Team Rocket, he encountered Cyndaquil, more as he stumbled upon him.

When Team Rocket attacked the wild Pokémon, Cyndaquil destroyed Team Rocket’s robot but it was about to explode. To save Cyndaquil, Ash used his Pokeball and saved him from the blast.

It joined with the young trainer and later evolved into Quilava, they had a great bond of friendship with each other. Right now, it resides in Professor Oak’s Laboratory.

Although the pocket monster loved to bite things, eat and chew stuff, he was very friendly and playful. He was very powerful but never evolved into Croconaw. It resides in Oak’s Laboratory at the moment.

Noctowl was a very special Pokémon since it was the very first shiny Pokémon that was introduced in the series. This shiny monster was loved in Ilex Forest and caused many troubles for Dr. Wiseman.

Eventually, Ash and his partner, Pikachu defeated the shiny Pokémon and caught it. The shiny monster currently resides in Oak’s Laboratory.

The young trainer decided to help Torkoal and fought with the leader of the bully group, Steelix. Ash told Torkoal to use his attack, Overheat, and defeated Steelix.

Later he joined Ash and became an important partner of the young trainer. It currently lies in Pallet Town, Oak’s Laboratory.

Before its evolution, when it was Snorunt it stole badges of Ash and caused big trouble for him. Eventually, it was caught by the young trainer.

The Pokémon was the great prankster and when it evolved into Glalie, it constantly froze different people and Ash was its favorite target. He is now with Professor Oak.

It’s interesting how Ash met the wild Pokémon by an accident. While the crew was searching for Pikachu, Aipom bumped into Starley. Ash fought with it and caught it.

He helped the crew to find Pikachu and it didn’t take him long enough to evolve into Staravia, but it took a while for it to evolve into Staraptor, and by that we mean 105 episodes.

Ash encountered Turtwig in the wild. The wild Pokémon even saved Pikachu from the evil Team Rocket and even tried to attack Ash, in a misunderstanding that he was trying to catch Pikachu.

It was caught sooner after that misunderstanding and everything became clear to Torterra. It took a while for it to evolve, after 95 episodes it evolved into Grotler, and 66 episodes to reach its final form, Torterra.

It was one of the powerful Pokémon of Ash. Now, it resides in Professor Oak’s Laboratory.

Gible was a very cute but strong-spirited Pokémon. He was clumsy and childish. His favorite snack? Ash’s head.

Snivy was a very powerful Pokémon compared to another base Pokémon. Ash used Snivy often in many battles and now it lies in Pallet Town, Oak’s Laboratory.

It quickly displayed a great fighting spirit and great energy to battle with other Pokémon s. Scraggy had a behavior of never giving up, he was a very brave Pokémon. Now he is in Pallet Town, Oak’s Laboratory.

Sewaddle and Ash didn’t meet in a friendly way when they first encountered each other, the Pokémon attacked him and didn’t allow him to catch.

When the young trainer risked his life to save the Pokémon, it finally allowed him to catch it. Soon, Swaddle evolved into Swadloon and during their fight against Iris, it evolved into Leavanny.

Ash and the Pokémon shared a great friendship and now it is currently in Professor Oak’s Laboratory.

But the invaders defeated them. After being defeated by Ash, he caught him after the battle. The Pokémon became a strong member of his team and helped his trainer in many battles. It is currently with Professor Oak in his lab.

While Boldore was in its first form Roggenrola, it was so powerful that it knocked out two of Ash’s Pokémon.

Eventually, he won the battle with the help of Tepig in a rematch. He caught Roggenrolaafter defeating it.

When Roggenrola was in a fight against Excadrill, it got seriously injured but despite that, it evolved into Boldore and turned all the odds that were against him. He won the battle and now resides in Professor’s Oak Laboratory.

The Sandile that Ash encountered was the boss of a group of Sandile, they lived near a spa. The group caused huge trouble for the Shoop owners, but in reality, Sandile was just trying to protect his friends from a geyser that was gonna blast.

Ash helped the Pokémon and saved its friends from the eruption. But after that, it started following him wanting to do a battle against Pikachu. During the fight with Pikachu, it evolved into Krokrok but still got defeated.

After some time it came back again and wanted a rematch with Pikachu but still, he had no luck with him. After losing the battle he got really sad and depressed about it but Ash offered to join him and he accepted it with a smile.

While the Pokémon was battling with Dragonite, it evolved into Krookodile. He is currently in Pallet Town, with Professor Oak.

Ash had a hard time trying to catch this Pokémon, he successfully caught Fletching after battling with it twice. Fletchling was a very strong and brave Pokémon, it later evolved into Fletchinder and soon after that into Talonflame.

Talonflame became one of the most reliable Pokémon for Ash who helped him several times in his journey. Currently, he is in Pallet Town, Oak’s Laboratory.

Ash encountered Hawlucha in a wild forest. Hawlucha had gained the title of Forest Champion after defeating Machamp, the former champion of the forest. He was very powerful and a loyal pocket monster.

Hawlucha was an honest Pokémon but some other pocket monsters caused trouble for him, some Pokémon s of the forest tried to frame him, making him fight with the former champion of the forest, Machamp.

But Machamp realized what was the truth and put those foul Pokémon s away. After some time, Ash tried to catch Halucha but only agreed to be caught if he could beat him in a battle, which he lost.

But still, Hawluch went with Ash leaving the forest to the former champion. This proves how strong and loyal Hawlucha was. Now he is in Pallet Town, Oak’s laboratory

While Ash was on his journey, his Pokémon Hawkucha found the Pokémon Egg that contained Noibat in it. Noibat hatched just after some time from the Egg and was very friendly and loyal to Ash from the start.

After a few episodes, Noibat evolved into Noivern and became a strong member of Ash’s team which helped him a lot throughout his journey. It is currently in Professor Oak’s laboratory.

When the young trainer was about to leave Alolan Island, Professors Burnet and Kukui took care of Rowlet.
