Clash of the Titans is one of many fantasy-based movies out there in the wild. This movie series is based on the Greek Mythology of Perseus who is the main protagonist of Clash of the Titans. Until now, there has been three Clash of the Titans movies.
With three movies in total, we have to keep in note that the Clash of the Titans which was released in 2010 is the remake of its 1981 counterpart.
These movies came out between 1981-2013. Despite having such great gaps in between, those movies were positively received when it was released.

Clash of the Titans (1981)
This movie is the first and original one on this list. It was released all the way back in 1981 and was positively received. This was based on the Greek myth of Perseus, who is the child of Zeus and Danae.
This movie was directed by Desmond David and stars Harry Hamlin as Perseus, Judi Bowker as Andromeda, and so on. The movie was very successful and a sequel was also planned, but despite its success, the sequel was never made.
The movie follows Acrisius, King of Argos, who imprisons his own daughter when a prophecy is made that his death will be bought by his own grandson. Later, his daughter has a child with Zeus.
This incident gets Danae and her son, Perseus banished from Argos. Later Perseus grows up to become a fine warrior and the movie follows the relationship between Perseus and Andromeda. It is a great movie that follows this plot.

Clash of the Titans (2010)
Clash of the Titans (2010) is a remake of 1981’s Clash of the Titans. It also follows the same Greek Mythology of Perseus. The plot of the movie pretty much follows the same plot story.
In the movie, Perseus is conceived by Zeus and Danae, and when King Acrisius finds out, he kills Danae and locks Perseus in a chest, and throws it into the sea. Thus, making Zeus and Acrisius enemies.
Perseus is found by Spyros and his wife Marmara who are fishermen. Later on, their city is attacked by soldiers of Argos, King Acrisius’s city, and declares war on gods. During this event, Perseus is the only survivor.
He is presented before King Cepheus and Queen Cassiopeia who are celebrating the rebellion against the Gods, but their daughter Andromeda firmly disagrees with it. The 2010 movie follows this plot.
Wrath of the Titans (2012)
Wrath of the Titans is the sequel to the 2010 movie, Clash of the Titans. It takes place 10 years after the events of Clash of the Titans. The plot follows how the gods can no longer sustain the wall of Tartarus which is holding back the Titan Kronos.
The story follows Zeus asking for Persesus’s help whereas he is now living as a fisherman with his son Heleus and has retired. With no luck there, Zeus reaches out to his brothers Hades and Ares who betray him and imprison him.
With this, Hades and Ares plot a plan to deal with Kronos in exchange for immortality. The draining of Zeus’s power is needed to revive Kronos, and they are successful in doing so. The movie follows this plot line.
Both Clash of the Titans and Wrath of the Titans was criticized by the critics. While a new sequel was planned, the project couldn’t come to plan due to widespread criticisms.

The most loved Clash of the Titans movie is without a doubt the 1981’s Clash of the Titans. The computer graphics and special effects were only taking their place back in the 1980s but it seems like people really enjoyed the story more than anything. According to critics, the movie felt fulfilling.
The 2010 Clash of the Titans was a remake of its 1981 counterpart. The special effects and CGI in the movie were good but seeing the same plot, made most people hate this movie. It was widely criticized as the story was a mess.
2012’s Wrath of the Titans received similar criticisms from the public. Not seeing the titans was a huge disappointment and they didn’t love the movie.

Will there be another Clash of the Titans movie?
The Clash of the Titans movies has delivered us with a lot of action-packed moments. As fans, most of us have been wondering, will there be another movie?
Well, the answer is No.
The sequel to Wrath of the Titans was planned and the name was also given as Revenge of the Titans. But due to widespread criticisms, the movie made it impossible. While the movie was not that bad in itself, the audience seems to hate both the newer installments of the movie. Due to it, the plans for sequels have been canceled as of now.
