The world filled with Pirates, treasures, and mysterious powers such as the Devil Fruits and Haki, certainly adds a lot to the plot of the series.
Join Luffy and his crew of trusted friends on an adventurous journey as they sail across the dangerous seas of the Grand Line, to find the end of the world, Laugh Tale, the hidden island that contained all the mysteries of the world, including One Piece.

The series has a fascinating storyline along with amazing characters. From battles between the Demons and the Slayers to heartbreaking scenes, the series is sure to give you a roller coaster ride of emotions.
The Demon Slayer manga came to an end in early 2020. However, the anime has just caught up to the second season. So you can expect some good stuff in the upcoming seasons of the anime if you haven’t read the manga yet.
4. Attack on Titan
The apocalyptic, adventure series, Attack on Titan, is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Hajime Isayama.
The man-eating Titans appeared hundred years ago before the current timeline of the series. The sudden appearance of the Titans made the humans go and seek safety behind the massive walls that stopped the Titans.
But not long after the story starts, the tall wall is breached by the Colossal Titan, and in comes the horde of Titans, destroying the town and devouring the people.
During such a massacre, Eren’s mother is killed by a Titan. After witnessing such a devastating scene right in front of his eyes, Eren vows to kill all the Titans in existence.
Eren along with Mikasa and Armin, enlist in the group Survey Corps, whose main aim was to eliminate all the titans and restore humanity alongside unraveling the secret behind the Titans.
It would be too much of a spoiler if more information was given about this. But trust me, such a plot with intense twists and turns in the series, would certainly blow your minds.
So while you are at it, make sure to check it out. You surely won’t be disappointed.
5. JoJo’s Bizzare Adventure
The multi-generational series, Jojo’s Bizzare Adventure is an evergreen anime and among the series that have managed to have a long-lasting influence on Pop Culture.
The main storyline follows the adventures of Joestar’s family members from different generations of the family line. The series shows the misadventures of the Joestar family, a noble family with English Roots.
The interesting part of the series is that it is divided into eight arcs, each part focused on a different family member of the Joestar bloodline.
What’s more interesting is that each part has a whole new cast of protagonists, antagonists, and a new setting. This will elevate your experience with the series.
The Manga has eight different parts whereas the anime adaptation has only covered the first six so far.
If you like great action, and psychic stuff along with weirdly good-looking characters and of course some “Bizzare Adventures”, this anime might just suit your palates. So make sure you add it to your watch list.
6. Dragon Ball
Another must-watch adventure series on our list is the Dragon Balls series. The 1989 hit series, Dragon Ball, even after more than thirty years, is still one of the most beloved anime among the fans.
The series narrates the tale of a young warrior, Son Goku. The young quirky boy with a tail embarks on a quest in search of the Dragon balls.
Goku spends most of his childhood in a place far from human civilization until he meets Bulma, an intelligent scientist and the daughter of one of the wealthy families.
Bulma asks Goku to join her in her quest of exploring the world and finding the seven orbs known as the Dragon Balls.
The seven Dragon balls, once when collected, grants the user any wish of their choice.
Along the way, he makes many new friends like Caulifla, Chi Chi, and more. With many friends, Goku also manages to make lots of enemies.
However, one thing that stands out the most in the series, is that even the enemies soon turn into allies.
The series depicts great adventures and astounding fights which is just what we look for in an action-packed adventure anime. So, got some free time? Make sure to check this series out.
7. Vinland Saga
Next on our list is Vinland Saga, one of the best anime that was released in 2019. Since the anime adaptation took much later than the manga, many fans were thrilled about its comeback.
The series is truly a fine anime that revolves around a boy, Thorfinn, son of Thors.
The story is very well written and the character development is also there, which is very important for any series for attracting an audience.
After seeing his father killed right in front of his eyes by a pirate named Askeladd, Thorfinn decides to avenge his father, pursues a journey with his father’s murder, and ends his life in a duel as an honorable warrior.
Through his journey, he faces many struggles, as he has to kill Askeladd and avenge his father amidst the war between England and the Danes, which is simply not an easy task to accomplish.
Fans still feel very strange as to why the anime was held back for so many years. The series was even about to be nearly canceled in the US in the middle due to its low readership.
But thank goodness, some loyal fanbase held on and the series kept going and was finally released as an anime by the same studio that created Attack on Titan. Need I say more?
8. Fairy Tail
Written and Illustrated by Hiro Mashima, Fairly tail has managed to land at number eight on our list of best adventure animes. The series depicts the main theme as friendship just like most of the animes during its time.
The series shows the story of a girl named Lucy Heartfilia, who sets out on a journey to become a fully-fledged wizard and joins the strongest and the most infamous guild Fairy Tail.
There she meets Natsu, Happy, Gray and Erza, and other guild members, who treat her more like family than friends.
Lucy further joins Natsu on his journey to find his adoptive father, Igneel. And guess what, his adoptive father Igneel is an actual dragon.
Shocking right? More reason to add the fantasy, action-adventure anime, Fairy tail to your watch list.
9. Bleach
If you were like me, who loved cool characters beating bad guys, then Bleach must have been one of your favorites.
If you haven’t watched the series, we suggest you do it right now. With cool and tough Soul Reapers and deadly Hollows, the series is a perfect combo of some action-packed scenes and an amazing plot line.
The main story is about a guy named Ichigo Kurosaki, who always possessed the ability to see ghosts. Despite that, he remained unfazed and didn’t care much about it.
Until one day, when his family is attacked by a Hollow, an evil lost soul. During the incident, Ichigo meets a Soul Reaper, Rukiya Kuchiki who changes his life forever.
To save his family, Ichigo becomes a Soul Reaper and saves his family. Ever since he becomes a Soul reaper, he dedicates his life to protecting the innocent and helping tortured spirits to find peace.
10. Pokemon
Now, you can’t keep Pokemon out of the top 10 when it comes to the best adventure anime of all time.
The whole anime is based on traveling across the world, collecting Pokemons, and training them to become the very best, just as the song suggests.
The anime back in the eighties and nineties had a theme of setting up a dream for the protagonist and showing the value of friendship.
That’s just what Pokemon followed too. The Pokemon series was based on the main character, Ash’s dream of becoming the best Pokemon Master.
Along with his pet pokemon, Pikachu, and friends Misty and Brook, Ash embarks on a journey to fulfill his dream.
As they travel across the world, they make many friends and foes and work their way through the ranks of the world’s many Pokémon Leagues.
The storyline might be long but it does fulfill its duty as an adventure anime. Moreover, the Pokemon Battles are what add that little extra spice to the series.
11. One Punch Man
Have you ever heard of a superhero getting bored of his powers? Probably not, right?
Well, that’s what makes the series One Punch Man so unique and interesting. The series tells the story of Saitama, the protagonist, who is extremely powerful and can easily defeat strong monsters and villains with just a single punch.
But, what’s funny and amazing is the fact that Saitama is already bored with his overwhelming power and is always on a search for stronger opponents who he can fight with.
After his encounter with the Genos, a cyborg, Saitama instantly forms a good relationship with him. Genos was on a mission to avenge his parents’ death by defeating the cyborg that killed them.
But realizing he was still weak, Genos decides to live with Saitama to become stronger to which Saitama agrees.
The fierce battles and actions are something you can look forward to in the series along with some good comedy scenes and most importantly the bond between Genos and Saitama.
12. The seven deadly sins
The Seven Deadly Sins is an amazing anime with exceptional animation. The plot line itself is very interesting indeed.
The series shows the adventures of Elizabeth, the third princess of the kingdom of Liones, to find the Seven Deadly Sins and take them back to defeat the Holy Knights.
The Seven Deadly Sins were framed for the murder of the Great Holy Knight of Liones, labeled as traitors and sinners in the land of Britannia.
On her journey, Elizabeth comes across the main protagonist of the series, Meliodas, the captain of the Seven Deadly Sins who bears the Sin of Wrath as a Dragon symbol on his left shoulder.
The action-adventure series perfectly shows the characters’ different aspects. Thus building very differing and fascinating dynamics between the characters.
It is also one of the animes where the supporting characters are more popular than the protagonist as we can see Ban, a member of the Sveen deadly sins, is more popular than Meliodas the leader.
Though the rating did drop after season 1, the series has managed to keep up and remain one of the best adventure anime of all time.
13. Dororo
If you liked the Demon Slayer series, you will probably like this next anime on our list, which is the recent hit, Dororo.
The recent anime series is a readaptation of the same series Dororo 1969. The original anime series followed Osamu Tezuka’s original manga piece. However, the 2019 adaptation rushed the anime to an end with multiple plot cuts.
Dororo is an excellent anime about a child, Hyakkimaru, who was born with a terrible curse. When he was born, he had no eyes, nose, legs, arms, or even skin.
The series shows his journey to defeat the demons that cursed him. He wandered alone for years until he met a child named Dororo.
Together they venture out in a quest to retake Hyakkimaru’s humanity from the demons that took it from him.
A great mix between realism and old Japanese folktale, Dororo does share some similarities to Demon slayer. However, the action-adventure series itself is a hidden gem in the anime industry.
So, we do suggest you give it a watch.
14. Magi: The Labyrinth of Magic
Magic-filled adventure anime is a common genre that most fans love and enjoy. The series, Magi: The Labyrinth of Magic, is a cool magic-based action fantasy anime that will get you hooked in no time.
Magi is a story about Alibaba, who meets a mysterious boy named Aladdin. Aladdin could summon a powerful blue spirit from a flute and travel across the continent in search of Djinn Metal Vessels.
Alibaba invites Aladdin to join him in his dungeon capturing expedition. Throughout their journey, they come across many encounters and learn the truth about their destiny.
The anime series might look light and fun on the surface, but as the story unfolds it gets darker and darker. So if you like such stories, Magi is just the right pick for you.
15. My hero Academia
Imagine almost everyone in the world got superpowers, but you don’t. Sucks, right?
Well, the same thing happened to the protagonist of the next series on our list, My hero Academia. Written and illustrated by Kōhei Horikoshi, the series soon became a hit after its release in 2016.
The story is set in the world, where superpowers become so common, that you would be an odd Ball if you don’t have them.
The series centers around Izuku Midoyira, who is born without superpowers but still dreams about becoming a superhero.
Midoriya has an unexpected encounter with the legendary hero, All Might, who gives him a chance to change his fate. However, to do so, he had to master his newly acquired Quirk to pass the U.A’s entrance exam.
16. Hunter X Hunter
Even after nearly 10 years of its release, Hunter X Hunter is still one of the best adventure anime of all time.
The series follows the story of a young boy named Gon Freecss, who is on a mission to train himself as a hunter just like his father.
All his life, he was told that his parents were dead. To his surprise, one of his fathers, Ging Freecss’s apprentice, Kite told him about how Ging was well and alive and had become an accomplished hunter.
Learning the truth, Gon leaves his home on Wahle Island and embarks on his journey to meet his father and become a hunter just like him.
Gon soon befriends three of the other applicants that appeared on the Hunter exam. Kurapika, the sole remaining member of the Kurta Clan, Leorio, a prospective Physician, and Killia Zolyck, a boy who left his family of assassins.
Gon Freecss is on a mission to train himself as a hunter just like his father. He reunites with his father, who is alive and an accomplished hunter too.
Though it is not a recent anime, the momentum, intellect, art, music, amazing characters, and incredible writing of the series are some of the reasons why people, to this day, enjoy the series and keep going back for more.
17. Soul Eater
Do you like cool humanoid weapons and action-filled adventurous animes? Then Soul Eater might just be what you’re looking for.
The Japanese manga series, Soul Eater, written and illustrated by Atsushi Ohkubo, is a dark and thriller adventure-based.
The whole series is set in the Death Weapon Meister Academy and the story revolves around three teams, each consisting of a weapon meister and a weapon that can transform into a humanoid.
These teams are always aiming for a ranking of Death Scythe, which is deemed to fit for use by the Shinigami, itself. In ordeTop, the teams must collect the souls of ninety-nine evil humans and one witch.
The Soul Eater series has successfully managed to keep consistency throughout the years. Since the series has barely any filler episodes, the fans can watch it without any worries.
This is what separates Soul Eater from the rest of the anime as some animes go to a greater length of providing a whole arc just for fillers.
18. Sword Art Online
The fans’ opinions are quite divided about the next series that we are going to talk about. Yes, you guessed it correctly, it’s Sword Art Online.
The series is an action-based anime with Kirito as our protagonist. Kirito along with other 10,000 players gets stuck into a VR-based game Sword Art Online.
The problem with the game was that they couldn’t log out and quit unless they finished the game. That means, they must complete the game to get back to the real world.
So to escape the game, Kirito must cooperate with his fellow players and avoid dying, since dying inside the game means dying in the real world as well.
Now, before you say that Sword Art Online is not a worth-watching anime, let me make you clear about something.
Even if the quality did drop a lot after the Aincard Arc, and was finished hurriedly, they still managed to get back on track with the recent season.
The anime is pretty decent and you can certainly give it a watch because not everything you read on the internet is true. Its characters are also quite simple and quirky and are neatly laid out, making it easier for the viewers to understand.
19. Kono Subarashii
Amongst the gruesome and dark action-adventures animes, Kono Subarashi is like a breath of fresh air.
KonoSuba: God’s Blessings on This Wonderful World!, is an incredible parody of isekai anime, that provides the viewers with lots of humourous and gag content.
The plot of the series, just like any other isekai anime, starts with Kazuma Satou being woken up by a beautiful goddess, Aqua after he dies on his way back home.
In the series, the goddess Aqua grants him two choices. His first option is that he goes to heaven and his next option is to be reincarnated in a parallel world, where he would be able to go on adventures and battle monsters.
Since the series is a light novel series, with fun characters and interesting plot lines, the viewers are surely in for a treat.
20. Overlord
Love dark fantasy and some gore content, then Overlord is just the right pick for you.
Overlord is often termed as horror anime which is based on its Japanese novel counterpart written by Kugane Maruyama. Season 1 consists of thirteen episodes that aired in the Summer of 2015.
The story follows an office worker in a dystopian world, who logs into a video game for the last time, only to find out that he, along with his entire guild, has been hauled to another reality.
Along with an amazing storyline, what captures the audiences is that the series embraces the protagonists with weird forms as part o their second lives, making it a forerunner of the trend of strange heroes.
This anime series is certainly hard to get into because of some mild nudity, vulgarity, violence, gore, and intense scenes, but if you are okay with it, it’s worth it.
The characters are also very likable and the drawings, as well as the last, are amazing too.
21. Full Metal Alchemist
One of the top-tier and best anime of all time, Full Metal Alchemist is just not your regular anime.
Set in the early 20th century, the story of the series is depicted in a fictional universe where alchemy is widely practiced.
The series follows the story of two brothers, Edward and Alphonse Eric. Their mother, Trisha, suddenly dies from an illness.
Grieving over their mother’s death, both tried to bring their mother back by using alchemy, which they had learned under Izumi Curtis. But they failed to do so, and the transmutation instead backfired, causing Edward to lose his left leg while Alphonse lost his body.
After such an unfortunate event, the two brothers, set out on a journey, searching for the Philosophers stone to restore their bodies.
22. Dr. Stone
If you think Dr. Stone is your regular “save the world with some science, adventure anime”, then you are wrong.
In the year 2019, a mysterious flash suddenly petrified almost all human life. After several millennia, high schooler Taiju wakes up and finds himself lost in a world full of statues.
However, he is not alone, as his science-loving friend Senku Ishigami, a 15-year-old prodigy is also revived along with him.
In a world where all the traces of the human race have been eroded, Senku comes up with a grand plan to once again start civilization with the power of science.
Interesting right? The unique plot and amazing characters of this series along with Senku’s green onion hair have made it possible to land it on our list.
23. Noragami
Noragami is such an underrated anime but is certainly one of the best anime out there.
The storyline of the series is quite simple yet very fun and interesting. Yato, a minor god seeks to gain widespread worship as he teams up with a human girl, Hiyori, who he saved to gain fame, recognition, and at least one shrine dedicated to him.
Well, don’t let such a simple plot fool you, because once you check it out, you will know exactly what I am talking about.
The series might be underrated, but the manga is beautiful as ever and still ongoing. So if you can’t wait further for the anime, we suggest you get started on the manga.
24. Cowboy Bebop
Since most of the adventure anime are recent ones, we have tried to include some vintage masterpieces such as Cowboy Bebop as well.
An excellent adventure anime, Cowboy Bebop is a sci-fi anime, set in space in a western genre.
The anime deals with space exploration and unknown spaces. It is a perfect balance of high-intensity action with some light comedy, where Spike and Jet Black along with their crew embark on many adventures.
In a post-apocalyptic world, where the world has become uninhabitable, a ragtag group of bounty hunters, known as Cowboys abroad a spaceship called Bebop.
They traverse planets and moons in search of wanted fugitives, with each cowboy contending with shadows from the past that they can’t outrun.
With a genre-bending storyline and an oddball cast of characters along with a widely diverse soundtrack, Cowboy Bebop remains one of the most innovative and influential anime series of all time.
25. Black Clover
The Black Clover is quite similar to My Hero Academia in terms that both the protagonists don’t possess magic or superpowers.
The series focuses on Asta, a young orphan who is left to be raised in an orphanage alongside his fellow orphan, Yuno.
In the world of Black clover, almost everyone is born with the ability to utilize mana in the form of magical power. However, our protagonist Asta has no magical powers.
Despite all this, Asta wants to become a Wizard King but instead focuses on physical strength. Now you might be wondering if he has no magic, how is he going to be a wizard king?
Well, it would be too much of a spoiler. So to keep it short and within limits, let’s just say he got something better than real magic. I mean he didn’t just focus on his physical strength for nothing.
The plot line and the theme of the series are very similar to most of the, “I have a dream to fulfill but I don’t have power so I need to train hard”, kind of animes.
But what sets it apart is the fact that even though being a shonen heavyweight, it has different magical attributes, humor, and heartwarming moments that have helped it become so popular among the fans.
26. Avatar: the last air bender
When we talk about the anime series Avatar, it is only natural to get that feeling of nostalgia as many of us grew up watching this anime.
The amazing storyline and the characters of the series are what capturecapturestention of the audience.

The amazing artworks, adventures, and intense battles are what make this series so popular and loved to this day.
27. Berserk
Many manga and anime series are produced targeting audiences of certain age groups. The most popular among young adults was the 1989 hit series, Berserk.
Having a different charm to it, Berserk is an incredible anime and a great example of what a Seinen anime should look like.
Although the Berserk anime is not as good as the manga, it is still a very good anime to watch. The dark fantasy anime, Berserk is about a man, Guts who is destined to be hunted by demons,
However, he ventures out on a journey to defy his gruesome fate and kill waves of demons that relentlessly pursue him.
He is very much resolved to get revenge on the one responsible for his situation as the one he seeks is the same person that he once considered a friend.
Berserk is not like your usual shounen anime as it has much more gore and violence in it, So if that won’t faze you, then this anime is certainly made just for you.
28. Inuyasha
Considered to be one of the best anime of the century, Inuyasha is a must-watch. The only drawback of this amazing series is its low quality, as it was made a very long time ago.
Inuyasha is a story of a half-demon who is constantly after a jewel called the Shikon Jewel, which has immense power. The jewel is also known as the Shikon no Tama and is protected by a priestess named Kikyo.
Kagome Higurashi, a teenage girl, after being pulled down a well by a demon, periodically travels back in time to the Sengoku period of feudal Japan. There she learns that a powerful jewel has been reborn inside her body.
Together with Inuyasha, Kagome tracks down the shards of the jewel and stops its power to fall into the wrong hands.
29. No game no life
Known for producing some quality content anime, like Overlord and The girl who leaped through time, Madhouse did put out its best to work in the isekai series, No game No life.
It is an Isekai series, which focuses mainly on two characters Shiro and Sora who are smart and know how to play the game better than their competition.
Shiro and Sora, together known as Blank, an undefeated group of gamers, are two hikikomori step-siblings.
One day, they are challenged to a game of chess by Tet, a god from another reality. After the two wins against Tet, they are offered to live in a world that is centered around games.

Akame Ga Kill follows Tatsumi as he fights the Empire and faces powerful weapons, and enemies challenge his morals and ideals and ultimately learn what it means to be an assassin.
Akame Ga Kill has some of the best sword fights. If you like them, then Akame Ga Kill will certainly not disappoint.
31. Samurai Champloo
if anyone asks you to give them an example of a true adventure anime, you can tell them about the Samurai Champloo.
It is the definition of what an adventure anime should look like. it follows the adventures of three travelers from different backgrounds who end up sharing the common goal of finding the samurai who smells like sunflowers.
Samurai Champloo is the story of a young lady, Fuu Kasumi, who is a former waitress. She rescues two samurais from being executed.
She then hires them as her bodyguards in the quest to find a certain samurai. Thus, the trio embarks on a journey to find the samurai leaving a surprising trail of bodies along their way.
Rather than three, it is more like one of the travelers trucked the other two into going with her but that doesn’t matter.
Surprisingly, Samurai Champloo and Cowboy Bebop share the same vibes, making cowboy bebop its predecessor. Explains a lot of why it was one of the most popular series back in the day.
32. Digimon Adventure
Digimon Adventure is a story of a group of seven young teens attending a summer camp in Japan. However, their camping doesn’t go as they planned it to.
They are unexpectedly sent to the mysterious and alternate, Digital world, that is linked to the real world by the Information Superhighway. That’s why it is called Digiworld.
The kids are then paired with strange powerful morphing monsters called the Digimon. The kids then make friends with the creatures who become more strange as they evolve.
During the story, they come together as a group and set out on an adventure to fight evil and save both the Earth and the Digiworld from destruction.
33. Castlevania
Inspired by the popular video game Castlevania, the series is a top-notch anime, especially the second and the third seasons.
The dark medieval fantasy, Castlevania, depicts the story of the last surviving member of the disgraced Belmont Clan, Trevor Belmont who tries to save Eastern Europe from destruction at the hands of Vlad Dracula Tepes.
Belmont is no longer alone. He and his misfit comrades race to find a way to save mankind as the grief-maddened Dracula and his legion of vampires prepare to rid the world of humankind.
Although Castlevania was never a perfect series, to begin with, the whole series managed to excel in many parts.
The excellent storytelling to the charming conversation and the exquisite detail in every texture and movement are some plus points of the series.
Likewise, it introduced a cast of fine characters and provided audiences with full-on twists and thrills as these characters clashed with each other.
So, if this series was not on your list, we suggest you note it down.
34. Spirited away
Not only series, but some great movies have also made it on our list of best adventure anime.
As we all know, anime movies are some of the best when it comes to this genre. Making it on our list is the Studio Ghibli movie, Spirited away.
The movie tells the story of a ten-year-old girl, Chihiro Ogino, who while moving to a new neighborhood, enters the world of Kami ( Spirits of Japanese Shinto Folkore).
Fascinated by the new world, Chihiro’s parents couldn’t control themselves and made a mistake. They were turned into pigs by the witch Yubaba.
To free herself and her parents, Chihiro takes on a job at Yubaba’s bathhouse where she meets Haku, who helps in time of need.
35. The time I got Reincarnated as a Slime
Just like its one-of-a-kind name, the series, The time I got reincarnated as a Slime, is a special kind of isekai anime, popularly known as Tensei Slime.
A corporate worker, Mikami Satoru is stabbed by a random killer and is reincarnated in an alternate world. However, he is reincarnated as a slime.
In a whole new world, Satoru becomes a slime with the name Rimuru. There he befriends the Storm Dragon and embarks on a new adventure, free from his previous mundane life.
After being thrown into the alternate world, he begins his quest to create a world that’s welcoming to all races.
Even with a simple plot, the anime series is fun to watch. Unlike other isekai animes, the anime is pretty strong in the story part and there are no big plot holes.
Moreover, it provides very little fan service promoting a wider range of audiences than the normal harem isekai.
36. Re: Zero – Starting Life in Another World
One of the most popular series, Re: Zero is more of a thriller and less of an Isekai. The isekai theme helps to balance out the dark themes extremely well.
The story centers around Subaru Natsuki, a hikikomori who is suddenly summoned and transported to another fantasy-like world on his way home from the convenience store.
As soon as he arrives in the other world, he is killed while trying to help a young half-elf, Emilia, who turns out to be the candidate to become the next ruler of the Kingdom of Lugnica.
However, he is soon rescued and revived by Emilia. To return the favor Subaru sat near her but little did he know, Emilia is burdened with more than he can imagine.
When enemies attack them one by one, both of them are killed and that’s when Subaru realizes he has the power to rewind the death, back to the time he first came to the alternate world.
Even being an isekai genre, the series, depicts a much darker theme. Thanks to the likability of the primary cast and good character development, it has managed to stay as one of the top anime.
37. Made in Abyss
