The Nun starts in a timeline before all the conjuring movies in 1952 at St Cartha Monastery, Romania. Two nuns are attacked by unknown evil and one of the nuns named Victoria managed to escape. Eventually, she ends up taking her own life too.

Then, Father Burke and Sister Irene are charged to investigate this matter. They set to the centuries-old monastery and experience supernatural attacks by the demon Valek that takes the form of the Nun.

The movie, made on the budget of $22 million, grossed $365 million worldwide. Although the critics were not quite well, it became the highest-grossed movie of the series worldwide.

The doll maker, Samuel Mullins, and his wife Esther lost their seven-year daughter as she accidentally stepped in front of the car.

After twelve years of the accident, the couple opens their home to give shelter to six orphans and Sister Charlotte. The couple strictly warned not to go to Anabelle’s locked bedroom.

However, Janice, a young girl with polio opens the room. She is attracted to the porcelain doll, also named Annabelle kept in the cupboard. She opens the cupboard and frees the demonic doll. Then strange and eerie things start to happen in the house.

Thus the story exposes the creation of a demonic doll, Annabelle, and how it was possessed. The movie received positive reviews from critics. With a budget of $15 million, it grossed over $306 million worldwide.

After the paranormal incident and the death of their neighbor, Mia gives birth to a healthy girl child. Both of them named her Leah.

The couple flees to the next rented apartment after the unfortunate horrible activities occurred lately but the creepy Annabelle doll follows them there too.

The movie made on a budget of $6.5 million hits the box office collection of $257.6 million. It was a massive hit movie of 2014 and became the highest gross horror movie in many countries. Although it didn’t do well in critics’ viewpoint.

They encounter various paranormal activities in the house which is haunted by malevolent spirits. They call famous paranormal experts Ed and Lorraine for investigating the matter. We see the glance of a doll, Annabelle in an artifact room Warren.

The investigators probe the matter and find demons plan to possess Caloryn and use her against her daughter. What further consequences would this sinister bring to the Perron family?

The story based on a real event has reviewed positive reviews from critics for its overall performance. With a budget of $20 million, the movie was able to gross $319 million worldwide.

In 1972, paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren take the custody of Annabelle doll. They locked the doll in a sacred glass room in their artifact room so that the doll would not cause any terror.

The doll sat in the glass case peacefully until one-day baby sitter’s friend named Daniela examine every item in the artifact room to contact his dead father and left the glass case where Annabelle was placed open.

Annabelle’s spirit got unleashed thus she further release other spirits present in that room on that single night. Ultimately the whole house was terrorized by the spirit.

The movie gained mixed reviews from its critics. It hit over $231 million worldwide against the budget of $32 million.

The Curse of La Llorona

Anna Garcia is a windowed social worker who investigates two boys and takes them to the child-service center away from their mother. Eventually, the boys turn up dead upon which Anna realized that their mother was saving them from the Mexican spirit.

Now, the curse of the Mexican spirit haunted Anna and her children, Samantha and Chris. This curse turned their life into the worst nightmare. The story focuses on Anna’s struggle to protect her children.

The movie made on a budget of $9 million had grossed $123 million worldwide. The movies didn’t receive positive reviews from critics.

In 1976, both paranormal experts investigate the murder of  Ronald DeFeo Jr. at the Amityville house. The other family member in the house had also experienced various paranormal attacks.

Peggy’s daughter Janet shows a change in behavior after being possessed. Thus, the experts turn up to help. Meanwhile, we can witness the link-up with Nun in this movie.

The movie got a positive review from critics. It earned over $320 million worldwide against a budget of $40 million.

The Conjuring: The devil made me do it also have dermatologist, Ed, and Lorraine Warren as the protagonist. They take the most sensational case of their career.

During an exorcism, Arne invites the devil to enter inside his body instead of David. Ed witnessed the transfer of an evil spirit from David to Arne which leads him to a heart attack and he end up in hospital.

Meanwhile, Arne murders his landlord, Bruno Sauls, by stabbing him to the death. He claims he had killed Bruno under the possession of the Devil. Thus this became the first American murder trial to claim demonic possession as a defense.

Did Arne kill the landlord under the influence of the Devil? How will our paranormal expert deal with this matter? Well, you have to watch the whole movie for this.

Future Movies in the Franchise

We are not done yet with the Conjuring and Annabelle movies, we are still to be thrilled and frightened by the movie. Thankfully, the sequel to Nun is coming. Well, Nun 2 is scheduled to release on September 8, 2023.

Similarly, another movie named The Crooked Man is also lined up in its development phase. The character adapted from The Conjuring 2 is now in the making to be the film itself. Well, we are excited and eagerly waiting for them.
