Updated: ‘Ahsoka’ and ‘Skeleton Crew’ First Glimpse of Footage Released as Part of 2023 Disney Plus Preview


A new Disney Plus commercial promo reveals the first look at Disney’s 2023 originals, including Loki season 2, the Ahsoka series, and more. Although Ahsoka’s promo was not more than two seconds, it was enough to remind fans that the Rosario Dawson-starring series is only a few months away from its release.

Disney also released snippets of season 3 of The Mandalorian although the snippets mostly contained footage from already released trailer. The Bad Batch was also seen briefly at the end of the promo video. Furthermore, while The Mandalorian will be released in March of next year, the release date for Ahsoka has yet to be revealed.

Ashoka’s teaser trailer

Well, certainly Ashoka’s teaser trailer is yet to be released however, back in May during a Star Wars celebration, a minute-long teaser of the series was shown for the celebration attendees. The Disney promo video featured the same footage as the teaser, but it was the first time it was made public.

Rosario Dawson is portraying Ashoka Tano’s character in the series, however, director Dave Filoni teased during the Star Wars celebration that we can expect the entire Ghost crew to be reunited in the live adaptation series.

Furthermore, Chopper also made his appearance during the “Mando+” panel which means he will also be in the series. Other than that, Sabine Wren’s character will be portrayed by Day Shift star Liu Bordizzo, and it will also be her debut in the Star Wars universe. Similarly, Mary Elizabeth Winstead will play a fan-favorite character, Mara Jade, likewise, Ivanna Sakhno is said to portray a character named Astrid.

Eman Esfandi from The Inspection is playing Ezra Bridger, and he is said to be the major plot element of the series. However, there is no information regarding who will play the roles of Hera and Zeb.

When will Ahsoka release?

As mentioned above, we don’t have the exact details of when the series will be released, but Lucasfilm is planning to promote Ahsoka in their other Star Wars series, The Mandalorian, and it is very likely that Ahsoka will be released sometime after The Mandalorian.

The Mandalorian is set to be released just a few weeks prior to the Star Wars celebration in London on March 1. Certainly, Lucasfilm will be campaigning to promote Ahsoka in the Star Wars celebration. Furthermore, already in October, it was revealed that after filming for about five months, the Ahsoka series is getting ready to call a wrap, so we can expect it to be released somewhere in mid-2023.

In the Disney Plus promo video on a Facebook ad, we also got the first look at Jude Law in the upcoming television series Star Wars: Skeleton Crew. Moreover, other Disney series that will be released next year include Marvel’s Secret Invasion, Peter Pan & Wendy, Win or Lose, American Born Chinese, and more.
